Staring with a delightful glass of Champagne follow by Mark Herold Wines:

Mark Herold, California Albariño Acha

Aromas of cantallupe, lychee, creamy minerals and apricot sex up the nose. With hints of chamomile flower, granny smith apple skin and grapefruit segments

Mark Herold, Flux Red

Producer: Mark Herold

Category: Wine – Still – Red

Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre

Geography: California, United States

The Aromas are powerfully vibrant with a surging ripe bouquet of candied raspberries, bacon fat – Yes! A core of black cherries, purple strawberries, black pomegranate, and milk chocolate join the cornucopia of sexiness! Secondary notes of black tea, orange peel, creamy minerals, fruitcake and a whiff of cigar box add even more dimension. While completely dry, the entry is sweet and plush, exhibiting structured balance between acid and the supple tannins. This amazing blend is made of 68% Grenache, 17% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre.

Mark Herold, California Collide Red

Producer: Mark Herold

Category: Wine – Still – Red

Grapes: Carignan, Petite Sirah, Tempranillo, and Graciano

Geography: California, United States

Appellation: Napa Valley

Collide is a red wine blend made from a collision of varietals rarely seen together; 48% Carignan, 25% Petite Sirah, 15% Tempranillo, 12% Graciano. The result is an inky black wine with dark brooding aromas of roasted meats, crushed rock, blackberries, tea, and licorice. Deliciously concentrated with full rich flavors, the tannins are amazingly present but supple. Fruit and tannin are beautifully interwoven, complimenting a long fruit forward finish. Drink the 2011 Collide over the next 15 years.
